Elderly Care Visit — Kibera

On a warm Saturday morning, the Code4Genius team gathered at our offices and loaded two vans with food supplies, fresh bedding, and warm blankets. We then drove to Kibera, one of Nairobi's largest informal settlements, where we partnered with local community leaders to identify elderly residents who needed support the most. Over the course of the day, we visited more than 30 households. Many of the elderly residents we met live alone, with no family nearby to support them. For some, the blankets and bedding we brought were the first new ones they had received in years. We also spent time listening to their stories — about their lives, their challenges, and their hopes. It was a humbling reminder of why community matters, and why we believe technology companies have a responsibility to give back.
